John Rutledge House Inn
Originally built in 1763, the renovation of this 12,000 square foot national historic treasure was converted to a luxury inn.  It is only one of fifteen antebellum homes still in existence that was owned by one of the 55 original signers of the American Constitution and the only one that now accommodates overnight guests. Beautifully restored, the John Rutledge House Inn re-creates the experience of Colonial Charleston in Pre-Revolutionary America.  Some of its historic features include original elaborately carved Italian marble fireplaces, plaster moldings, inlaid parquet floors, period 18th century antique furnishings, and exquisite ironwork. Guests may choose from nineteen rooms and suites in the main house or in one of the inn's two historic carriage houses. This historic inn has been designated a AAA Four-Diamond award rating, has been designated as a National Historic Landmark, and is a charter member of the Historic Hotels of America Association.
